The World of 3D

The first random dot stereogram, like the one shown above, was invented by Dr. Bela Julesz in 1959 as an experiment to test stereopsis, the ability to see in 3D. From this experiment we know see stereograms and other types of 3D images in computers, on wall hangings, in books, and on major billboards across the country.

Other types of 3D than stereograms are side by side images that can be viewed either parallel view or cross eyed view. In these images the artist takes a snapshot of a figure then takes another snapshot of the same image except about 2 inches to the left. And when these images are viewed in one of the views a third image is produced by your eyes that has depth in the image. Artist also make 3D videos as well. All methods are fun and exciting. For all types of stereograms you can visit www.magiceye.com or if you would like to see3d images of pictures side by side you can go to www.ray3d.com.
